Stop Motion Art Therapy Workshops
|
Make art with community and learn a new skill!
Leave with a collaborative short film and learn how to continue making your own artistic, unique films. Workshops usually consist of 6 - 8 participants and can be geared toward art as therapy with varying themes, including transition and change, making transformations, and visioning a better future . The workshops can also be geared toward art therapy technique training for art therapists. There is a certain magic to this process that can shift perspective, offer a spirit of hopefulness, and bring about positive connectivity with others through collaboration. You can use this group process as a way to find inspiration and to kick-start your life into motion. This creative therapeutic workshop is focusing on the theme of transformations. Participants will learn how to create a stop motion animation using collage materials, drawing tools, and other art media. Stop motion film making requires the creator to slow down, consider the importance of each moment of the story, and allow the layers of morphing imagery to feel active and full of possibility. During this workshop we will create a stop motion film and reflect on our efforts to tolerate change. We will examine our ability to honor our encounters with both joy and chaos in order to gain insight and appreciation for the larger moving picture and story of our lives.
